3D Modeling - Theme Base Scene
Modeling
INSTRUCTIONS
In this task, we are instructed to create a Theme Base Scene Modeling. Mr
Kamal provided some examples in the Google document, but he said we don't have
to follow those themes. We can make a theme we like.

The examples are not ones I can do when I have very limited time and basic
skills. I also prefer a more simple-looking, eye-friendly theme.
So my first thought is what exactly is the setting that I wanna make. I took
a long ponder until I decided that I would make my favourite room: the
bedroom. The bedroom is my safe place and I spend a long time there either
doing something I like or doing assignments.
My first step is to create the floor so I have a feeling of how much space I
need to work on. While making the walls, I had an idea to make a hole in the
wall and make a glass window on it, where I would create a little sitting
area.

Beside the bed is some stairs. The stairs itself isn't too high. The person
can just jump to the bed without using it, but it will be useful for small
children who aren't tall enough to get on it. But another use of the stairs
are the drawers on each of the steps.
For the bed itself, I made it really simple. But it looked too plain at
first, so I added the blanket for an additional touch. I also added a
mattress for the window for the person to sit more comfortably. I also
started to add some color. I decided to use pastel color for it to look
pretty and "girly", and from here I started to work with colours at the same
time as making the models.

The next thing I added is the computer. I work with my laptop all the
time, but I decided to change it with a computer to make it a bit simpler.
I started off by making a desk for placing the computer, then I made the
ultra wide screen by using the proportional moving to make it bend a
little bit. I also spent a long time working on the keyboard because there
is so many edges I need to cover to make sure the smoothened shape won't
be destroyed.
(here I was working on the shapes while watching a recorded live stream on
Twitch, which is why there is a pop out window on the screen)

After adding them, I know that the empty space in the room is obviously still too much. I started filling up the space by making a chair for the desk. Then behind the chair I made a little coffee table with bean bags to sit on. They look quite nice already, but I figured it will be even better to put a nice little carpet under it, to make the room look even more cozy.
When the floor is filled, next is the wall. I put some book shelf and some
boards on the wall to fill up the space and add some decoration. I made a
plant (which took a long time for the leaves) and just copy pasted them to
some locations to make it look fresher.

Lastly, after I felt like the empty space had been filled, I started to
work on some decorations to make it more lively. I put another plant on
the window mattress and a whole bunch of books to the board and shelf.
I also almost forgot to put some pillows on the bed, so I added some and
some more to the window mattress. After all, I want everything to look
cosy.
After Mr Kamal checked my work, he said that the lighting was too bright, but the composition is already okay. He also suggested that I can play with the lighting. Instead of making basic lighting, I could put the lighting in some areas or objects to make it better.
So I decided to make some lighting on the window frame and the computer screen, and honestly, it was such a nice idea because the room looks even more aesthetic than before.

REFLECTION
Experience
This task has been an emotionally rollercoaster for me. It took me a long time to think on what I want to make. I tried to make sure whatever I make will look nicely and not too simple, while also trying not to burden myself too much because a lot of assignments deadlines are coming closer. It took me another week after the stated deadline in my time because I had to take more time working on it due to having an art block and trying to keep up with other modules' work. But thankfully I finally managed to finish it and be proud of my work. The new knowledge I gained from my previous task has also helped me tremendously in this task. Not only I feel like I know what I'm doing now, I also feel like my hands are more experienced in using blender, thus making my work finish even faster.
Observations
During the week of submission, I took a look at some of my peers' work and noticed that some also did an aesthetic looking scene modeling, which is a relieve because I also took the same approach. I noticed that my peer made the scene a bit more compact by using basically the same objects and duplicating them, which is a good idea that I can apply to my work to save some time. Looking at their work also inspired me on what I should add to my own work.
Findings
I found the experience of working on this task a tiring yet exciting one. I had the freedom to choose what I want to make and explore what I could do with what I've learnt so far. I found myself frustrated at times and just wishing I could import some small objects from the internet and put them there, which I almost did, but I hid the object from the final layout to keep it original and honest. Nevertheless, I learnt a lot from working on this task, and it definitely improved my expertise on blender.
