REFLECTION
Experience
For me, typography has been one hell of a ride. I feel like I have the most
difficulty trying to express the text to my liking. Looking back at my work, I
feel like I still have a long journey to be a good typographer. I still have
some difficulties expressing text formats to make it look interesting, and I
also need to practice to think outside the box and explore more layouts. I
feel like I still lack a lot of knowledge and reference for typography, but I
will continue to learn and explore to be better little by little.
Observation
I'm really amazed at how good other people's work is. Some of the works are so
good it makes me feel small and a bit discouraged. But I always try to
overcome that negative thought and try to improve my work, even if it's only a
small improvement. I feel like I have very little knowledge regarding
typography, and I'm not sure if others are the same. But just because I
started to learn a bit late doesn't mean I'll back down now.
Findings
Some people have difficulties in these projects, while others excel at it. I
think I'm somewhere in the middle. I feel like I know what I'm supposed to do
with the process, but I find it hard to make interesting layouts
and execute the work. During that time, I usually just look into other's
people work. I try to take soma inspiration for them, while trying to minimize
plagiarism. Although it helps, sometimes it also backfires and limits my
thoughts from exploring new layouts.
